As time goes on, web development is only going to become more prevalent.
The opportunities in this field are seemingly never-ending and learning JavaScript alongside a frontend framework (such as React, Angular, or Vue) is a great investment of your time since they remove a lot of the friction caused from pure HTML and CSS. In LavaLab, most of the products created are either mobile apps or web applications. Thus, spending some time learning basic web development is only setting you up for future success.
In this workshop, Wilhelm goes over the theory of React as well as some web development fundamentals. He then proceeds to complete two coding demos to show his teaching in action and further explain how React functions in this context. Find the write-up and GitHub repository to this video below.
Wilhelm Willie was in LavaLab's Fall'16 cohort and graduated from USC with a major in Computer Science & Business Administration and a minor in Digital Entrepreneurship. He is currently working as a Software Engineer for Coinbase. He has a typing speed of 140 WPM and is actively taking on challengers at typeracer.com.
